Recruiting Basics

Be sure to keep updating your Virtual Combine and Field Level accounts. There are different levels:

D1 & D2 - These are the highest at the college level and are a good option if you are hoping to go pro. They offer athletic scholarships. You do need to register with the NCAA Clearing House and there is a fee to do that. You also have to send your transcripts and you should send your ACT and/or SAT scores to them as well. They will verify your student's information and assign them an ID Number.

D3 - They do not offer athletic scholarships and you do not have to register with NCAA in order to be eligible to play at this level. Most do offer generous Academic Scholarships and there are caps on how often the coach can have them on the field. D3's tend to be more academic focused.

NAIA - You do need to register with the NAIA Eligibility Center to be eligible to play at this level. Once registered they will verify your student's information and assign them an ID Number.

JUCO - Information about playing at the JUCO level can be found here. JUCO is a great option as it gives players the chance to develop more, finish some classes at a lower cost and transfer to a D1, D2 or D3 to complete their baseball and college career.
