Bio

Drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 34th round of the 2012 MLB June amateur draft straight out of Westwood and then he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 11th round of the 2015 MLB June Amateur draft out of the University of Texas.  Spent time in minor leagues over 3 seasons. 

AS A JUNIOR (2015)
Named First Team All-Big 12 … named to the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List on April 9 … tied for the eighth most triples in the country (7) … led the Big 12 in triples (7), was second in multi-hit games (26), third in total bases (120), fourth in hits (80) and seventh in slugging (.498) … led the team in batting average (.332), hits (80), slugging percentage (.498), triples (7), multi-hit games (26), steals (16), total bases (120) and was second in on-base percentage (.393) … had multiple hits in 26 of 56 games, and three or more hits in nine contests … had a team-leading .350 batting average with 13 extra base hits (eight doubles, three triples, two home runs), seven steals and an OPS of .980 in 23 Big 12 games. … tied for second in the league with 35 hits and eight doubles, and his 55 total bases lead the league during conference play … went 5-for-11 with a double, two runs scored, two stolen bases and three hit by pitches against Texas Tech May 1-3 … had a 6-for-14 (.429) series against TCU (April 25 & 26) with a double, a run scored, two RBIs and a walk … was 4-for-5 with two home runs (second multi-homer game of the season), a double, three RBIs and three runs scored at Kansas April 19 … had a  game-winning RBI-infield single April 17 against Kansas … blasted four extra base hits (three doubles and a triple) in the Kansas State series (4-for-12) with three RBIs and three runs scored … had a 5-for-13 (.385) series vs. West Virginia (March 13-15) with a double, a triple, a run scored and an RBI … smashed wo hits, including a triple, and drove in a run vs. West Virginia on March 14 … added two hits and a run scored vs. Incarnate Word (March 10) … went 8-for-17 with two home runs, a triple, five RBIs, five runs scored, two hit by pitches and a walk in the four-game set at Stanford (March 5-8) … had a career-high five hits (5-for-5), including a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs on March 8 at Stanford … had his first-career multi-home run game on March 5 against Stanford in a 3-for-4 effort with three RBIs and a walk … was 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk and an RBI against San Diego on March 1 (game two) … hit .500 (9-for-18) in a four-game set against Minnesota with a double, a triple, an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases … was 4-for-5 with a run scored vs. Minnesota on February 22 … went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI February 21 (game two) against Minnesota … had three hits, including a double, a run scored and three RBIs against UTSA on February 17 … nominated for Big 12 Player of the Week after going 8-for-18 with a home run, five RBIs and five runs scored in the weekend series vs. Rice (Feb. 13-15) … was 5-for-6 with a home run and four RBIs when batting with two outs in the Rice series (Feb. 13-15) … matched a career-high with a 4-for-5 game, along with a three-run home run and three runs scored vs. Rice on February 14 (game one).

AS A FRESHMAN (2013)
Played in 31 games with 27 starts and batted .220 ... recorded 20 hits, nine RBIs, six doubles, one triple, and three home runs ... had two or more hits in five games ... on March 10 against UC Santa Barbara went 4-for-4 with two RBI, two doubles, two runs scored, a home run, and a walk ... 13 of his 27 starts came at the designated hitter position ... also appeard as a pinch runner in four games for the Longhorns ... named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2012 fall and 2013 spring semesters.
