WARRIOR  BASEBALL  TRYOUTS

parents AND players should read this memo

Baseball tryouts begin January 25th from 6:30-8:30 PM and continue on Saturday the 26th at 1:00 PM.  The coaches will select players to continue trying out the following week. Tryouts will continue through scrimmages to allow the players from basketball an opportunity to tryout. These players will not tryout until their other sport concludes and will be given the full two day tryout.  Actual team assignments (Varsity, JV Orange and JV White ) are made later and are subject to change. Tryouts for these three teams are very competitive. Please be prepared, in shape and ready to compete. Normally, not everyone makes a team; but interested players are welcome to turn their disappointment into motivation, work hard and try out again for a summer team or for the next season. Please do not buy any expensive equipment before the selections are made.  Also, all freshmen and new tryouts must wear their own clothes until selections are made.  Be sure to have warm clothing available for that time of year. Change clothes in the baseball locker room and bring your “bag” to the field with you (or just change at the field in the restrooms). Lockers and equipment are issued after players make the team.

Baseball tryouts consist of running, throwing, fielding, pitching, hitting, and game situations.  Each player is encouraged to be in shape and prepare his batting eye and throwing arm prior to tryouts so that each one can demonstrate his ability to the utmost when we begin.  Informal and unsupervised practice sessions are after school each day in December and January (weather permitting).  In season we practice daily (except Sundays) and generally are committed to a full day on Saturdays.  The commitment necessary is serious.

The following forms must be completed and returned prior to any practice. These forms are completed once per year, not per sport, with the exception of a second Emergency Care Card. Forms may be filled out online    click here
