Warrior Volleyball Senior Night
On Tuesday, October 23, we took a moment to honor the commitment of our 2019 Seniors and their parents to the Warrior Volleyball Program before they took to the court to play in their final home game of the 2018 season. This night was made even sweeter by a 5-set win over the Vista Ridge Rangers, affording the Warriors the opportunity to continue their season in the post season playoffs. Below are the class of 2019 Senior Bios:
Mikayla Piwonka, Team Manager—and her father Mike Piwonka
Mikayla has been with the program for the past 4 years as both an athlete and manager. However, Mikayla is so much more than a manager . . . she is the loudest cheerleader on the bench, a professional statistician, the official team hype-woman, and the assistant to the assistant coach! In addition to Westwood Volleyball, Mikayla is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Co-President, a member of UNICEF, National Honor Society, Pacesetters, Charity Music Club, Partners in PE, and PROS. Next year, she plans to attend UT Austin where she will major in Psychology.

What she’ll miss most: Each and every single person in the program
Lily Tillett, Athletic Trainer—and her parents Ryan & Michaelene Tillett
This is Lily’s second season with the Westwood Varsity Volleyball Team. Lily has been a critical part of the team and has dedicated so much time to helping our athletes stay healthy. Lily is a member of both Pacesetters and Spanish Club; she is also a recipient of the 4.0 Academic Achievement Award. Although Lily is still undecided on which college to attend she plans to major in Biology.
Favorite Westwood Volleyball memory: Going to Dairy Queen after a “sick win”
What she’ll miss most: Taping Macy’s finger
Ingrid Stading, Right-Side Hitter—and her parents, Rick & Janet Stading, and brother, Nik
As a four-year member of the Westwood Volleyball Program, Ingrid has played an integral role on each team and diversified herself as both a middle blocker and right-side hitter. In addition to Westwood Volleyball, Ingrid played club volleyball for Austin Juniors and currently plays for Texas Eclipse. She has served on the Wonders & Worries Teen Council and is an active member of the St. Thomas More Life Teen Group. Next year, Ingrid will attend University of Dallas (major undecided Science) where she will continue her volleyball career at the collegiate level.

What she’ll miss most: Getting to play the sport she loves with the people she loves everyday
Purvi Mujumdar, Setter—and her father Ashutosh Mujumdar
As a four-year member of the Westwood Volleyball Program, Purvi has been a role model of what it means to be a student athlete both on and off the court. In addition to Westwood Volleyball, Purvi is also a member of the Westwood Girls Track Team, National Honor Society and Girl Up Club. Purvi is a National Merit Semifinalist and is a four-year recipient of the 4.0 Academic Achievement Award. Next year, Purvi plans to attend either UT-Austin or Boston University as a Film major.
Favorite Westwood Volleyball memory: Staying up late and team bonding at the lake house retreat
What she’ll miss most: Team dinners and playing volleyball with the people she loves
Caroline Suter, Outside Hitter—and her parents, Brian & Amanda Suter, and brother, Zach
Caroline is a two-year member of the varsity volleyball team. This year Caroline has tallied 198 kills, 388 digs, 31 aces, and 34 blocks. In addition to Westwood Volleyball, Caroline played club volleyball for Texas Eclipse and Austin Performance over the past 5 years. She is a member of Pacesetters, National Honor Society, and National French Honor Society. Caroline is a four-year recipient of the 4.0 Academic Achievement Award and was also named Academic All-District. Next year, Caroline plans to attend either Texas A&M or Texas Tech as a physical therapy major.
Favorite Westwood Volleyball memory: Performing her dance with Audrey to Mack Z’s ‘Teamwork’
What she’ll miss most: Seeing all of her friends everyday
Jenny Todd, Defensive Specialist—and her parents, David & Sarah Jane Todd
Jenny is a two-year member of the varsity volleyball team. This year Jenny has recorded 215 digs and 25 aces! In addition to Westwood Volleyball, Jenny played club volleyball for Austin Juniors and currently plays beach volleyball with Project Serve. She is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and National Honor Society. Jenny is a dual-sport athlete and is a member of the Girls Track Team. In track she was a regional qualifier in the 800m and 4x400m relay. She is a four-year recipient of the 4.0 Academic Achievement Award and also earned Academic All-District. Jenny is still undecided on which school she plans to attend while continuing her beach volleyball career at the next level as a physical therapy major.

What she’ll miss most: Trips to Dairy Queen after big wins, team dinners, and varsity retreats
Macy Prenger, Defensive Specialist—and her parents, Richard & Jennifer Prenger
Macy is a two-year member of the varsity volleyball team. This year Macy has recorded 398 digs and 20 aces. Recently, Macy tied the Westwood record for digs in a match with 45! In addition to Westwood Volleyball, Macy is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and PROS. Next year, Macy plans to attend San Jose State and major in Humanitarian Aid.

What she’ll miss most: Her teammates . . . duh!
Maggie Stout, Outside Hitter—and her parents, Russell & Melissa Stout
Maggie is a three-year member of the varsity volleyball team, a two-year starter, and team captain. This year Maggie has tallied 284 kills, a team high 437 digs, and 46 aces. In addition to Westwood Volleyball, Maggie has played club volleyball for Austin Juniors for 7 years. She is a member of Pacesetters and National Honor Society. Maggie is a four-year recipient of the 4.0 Academic Achievement Award, was named Academic All-District, and earned All-District athletic honors. Maggie is undecided on where she plans to attend college next year but plans to major in Marketing.

What she’ll miss most: Seeing her team & Nelson everyday
Maddi Kriz, Outside Hitter—and her parents, Ken Kriz & Karen Stierman, and siblings, Matthew & Alex
Maggie is a four-year member of the varsity volleyball team, a three-year starter, and two-year team captain. In her four-year Westwood career, Maddi has accumulated nearly 900 kills and 750 digs. She has collected several volleyball accolades over the past four years including being named District MVP, TGCA & TAVC All-State, a TGCA All-Star, All Central Texas and All District honors. In addition to Westwood Volleyball, Maddi was a two-year member of the varsity soccer team and received All-District honors as goalie. She played club volleyball for Austin Juniors, competed on the USA Beach Volleyball team, and currently plays beach with Texas Volleyball Tour. Next year, Maddi will attend Stanford University where she will major in Biomedical Engineering and continue her beach volleyball career at the collegiate level.
