Bio

Elyse Jacques played on Westwood’s Varsity tennis team all four years of high school. During her time there, she won various awards and championships. She played everything she could play in—singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. Some of her past doubles partners are Leslie Stewart, Emmi Folsom, Matt Tufford, and Casey Cuzmina. Elyse began playing tennis when she was around five years old. She remembers going straight to the Cathy Caraway Elementary tennis courts after school every day and playing tennis with her dad, Michael Jacques. Every time she or her brother hit a good shot, her dad would shout, “That’s a donut!” After playing at Westwood, Elyse went on to play in college. She played at Temple Junior College from 2002 to 2004. Her team won nationals in singles and doubles after a week of intense playing at College Station. Afterwards, she transferred to Eastern New Mexico University and finished school there. She graduated in 2007. Now, Elyse is married to a Mr. Lucero, and they live in Leander. Elyse has been working at Farmers as an underwriter since August 2010, and has a baby girl.
