Warriors at UIL 6A State Swim and Dive Championship

Westwood Swim & Dive culminated their season with a stellar showing at the UIL State Championship.

Girls finished 9th in Texas!  Boys finished 12th!

Some highlights:

• Junior Raphael Wang took silver in the 100 breaststroke and placed 4th in 200 IM
• Junior Sophia He placed 4th in 100 butterfly and 10th in the 200 IM
• Sophomore NamAnh Truong placed 14th in the 50 free
• Junior Steven Ma placed 10th in the 100 breaststroke
• Freshman Max Laine placed 15th in the 100 breaststroke
• Sophomore Jazzlyn Vaughan placed 10th in 5 meter diving.
• Girls 200 medley relay (NamAnh Truong, Leah Zhang, Sophia He, Jaden Steen) placed 9th in the 200 medley relay
• Girls 200 freestyle relay (NamAnh Truong, Violet Hewett, Jaden Steen, Sophia He) placed 7th
• Boys 200 medley relay (Kevin Qian, Steven Ma, Raphael Wang, Josh Lee) placed 7th
• Boys 200 free relay (Josh Lee, Julian Rusk, Harrison Tater, Raphael Wang) placed 12th

There is a lot to build on, of the 13 Warriors competing, only one was a senior, four were juniors, eight were underclassmen!
