Q & A with Soccer Player Caleb Fagan

What sports do you play for Westwood ?

Football

What is your best memory you have had playing for the Warriors?

My favorite memories are all the post-game bonding moments I've experienced with my teammates. The energy is high throughout the night, from giving high fives to people in the stands, standing for the alma mater, the bus ride home, blasting music in the locker room, all the way to our meetup at Cane's for a late night celebratory snack. Everyone is in a great mood and I can't wipe the smile off of my face.

What is the best thing about being a Warrior Athlete?

A privilege I've experienced as a Warrior Athlete is the support of our community. Students, staff, alumni, neighbors, and future Warriors are always present and excited at our football games, cheering us on and making it tough on our opponents. That support doesn't go unnoticed, and I truly appreciate all our community members who take times out of their weeknights to come support Westwood athletics.

What is your favorite thing about Westwood High School?

I think Westwood is a uniquely diverse school. Anyone and everyone is welcome at Westwood, and our diversity allows us to pursue excellence in many different ways. There's a reason Westwood finds so much success in academics, athletics, and extracurriculars, and that is a result of the culture of inclusion, individuality, and ambition we've established.

What is your favorite class and teacher at Westwood?

Mr. Chalk's AP English Class

What teams do you root for outside of the Warriors?

Texas A&M Aggies, Houston Texans, Rockets, and Astros

What is the best advice someone has given you?

There's a difference between intelligence and knowledge.

What advice would you give to someone that wants to be a Warrior Athlete?

Being a Warrior Athlete means more than just playing a sport. We represent Westwood, so we must stay well rounded individuals and display excellent character. We don't need to rely on luck or talent alone because we work hard and focus on details. We demonstrate values of our community and our school through team success in competition and personal success once sports are over.
