Freshman Clinches Match against Southlake Carroll

The Westwood Warriors traveled to Waco on Thursday August 9th to play State Powerhouse Southlake Carroll at Waco Midway High.  The Southlake Carrol Dragons played very well in doubles and was up 4-3 after the turn.  Once singles started, the Warriors stepped up and really played well.  In only their second match of the season, the Warriors battled the Dragons in to a superbreaker in 7 of the matches and almost every match came down to the wire.  Great tennis by all and great start to the season.  Warriors were up 9-5 and then Southlake won 4 straight matches to tie it up at 9-9.  It all came down to Freshman Zeyad Elchouemi.  1st time under pressure? No problem.  Zeyad stepped up under the glaring sun and won 6-4, 6-4 to take the match for the Warriors.
