Westwood Swim Raises Record Amount at Annual Distance Challenge
The Westwood High School Varsity swim team held their annual distance challenge fundraiser on Friday October 19, 2018. Every swimmer has the option of swimming half a mile in a costume or swimming a mile without a costume, most choose getting to have some fun dressing up and trying to swim in their outfits. This event is also the team's largest fundraiser of the year with members getting donations to sponsor them from families and friends for the event. The funds from this event go to the booster club and help to pay for things such as away meets.
This year was a record setting year for fundraising with the team raising $10,203.
The Class Winners were:
1st JUNIORS $3,480
2nd SOPHOMORES $2,875
3rd FRESHMAN $1,985
4th SENIORS $1,890
