Coach Ochoa is originally from El Paso, Texas where she was a 4 year varsity starter for El Dorado High School’s volleyball team as the libero. She also played for one of the top clubs for the top 18s team from the age of 15 qualifying and attending nationals twice during that time period. After graduating high school, she attended The University of Texas and graduated in 2014. She played club volleyball as a libero for 2 and a half years and was later invited to play for The Texas Varsity Volleyball Team as a DS in 2011. During her college time, she began her coaching career and was the head coach at Paragon Preparatory School and also coached club. Additionally, she also assisted the UT Men’s Club Team for a couple years during her undergraduate time. Before leaving to Madrid, Coach Ochoa was also coaching for Austin Skyline. During those years, she coached a 14s Open group alongside Coach Don Flora where they qualified for nationals and had a great run! In Madrid, Coach Ochoa went back to being a player and competed in the federated division in Primera Autónomica with Los Salesianos.
Coach Ochoa is excited for this upcoming season and can’t wait to continue being a part of Westwood’s powerful volleyball program!
