Bio

The 2021/22 year is Coach Lanea Meyer's fifth year as the Head Softball Coach at Westwood High School.  Meyer attended high school in Marion, TX as a multi-sport athlete. At Marion, she was a 3 year basketball letter man and a 4 year softball letter man.  Upon graduation, Meyer continued her softball career at Ranger College, where she was a 2 year starter, and earned All-Conference honors. Meyer continued her education at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX and graduated in 2010.

Prior to being named head coach, Meyer spent six years in San Antonio teaching and coaching. She began her career at Legacy Middle School in San Antonio (2011-2014) coaching volleyball, basketball and track. She began coaching at the high school level in 2014 at Judson High School, where she coached basketball and softball.  After spending two years at Judson High School, Meyer was given the opportunity to open a brand new school, Veterans Memorial High School in San Antonio in 2016. Although she spent only one year at VMHS, she helped to start the basketball and softball programs from scratch before moving to Austin to take over the softball program at Westwood.

 Meyer is looking forward to the upcoming and future seasons as the head softball and assistant volleyball coach at Westwood High School.
