Westwood Golf sends two to Regionals

Westwood Golf had a strong showing at the 25-6A District Championships in Burnet, TX at Delaware Springs Golf Course. Westwood Girls placed third as a team with a team score of 687. Payton Kienitz led the girls team with a two-day score of 162 (85-77) and placed 8th overall. Lauren Phelan was next-best for the Warriors with a score of 167 (87-80) and placed 11th overall. Kienitz also qualifed as a medalist to participate in the Regional Tournament in San Antonio on April 17-18, 2023 where the top medalists outside of qualifying teams will advance to the State Championships in May. 

Westwood Boys also placed third as a team in the District Championships with a score of 631. The Warriors were led by Luke Hagen, who shot 151 (73-78) and placed 6th overall. Jonathan Kim shot 153 (73-80) and placed 9th overall. Hagen qualified for the Regional Tournament in San Antonio on April 19-20, 2023 where he will play for a chance to qualify for the State Championships, as well.
